Bart Cleveland Launched Job Propulsion Lab To Supercharge Your Advertising Portfolio.

After years as an award-winning creative director and agency owner, Bart Cleveland realized a need to help people succeed in the advertising industry required more than academic programs. Today, those who have used JPL are working at some of the industry’s most respected agencies. Bart is a frequent speaker at SXSW, BOLO, Ad Age’s Small Agency Conference and The One Club Creative Week. He is a contributing author for The Get a Job Worksop: How to Find Your Way to a Creative Career in Advertising and is working a second book, Build the Creative Career You’re Meant to Have.

If you’re a Designer, Art Director, Copywriter or just looking to level up, check out JPL.

I directed this for Bart back in olden days of film, 4:3 aspect ratios and when this non-Spanish speakers directed in Spanish.

Thank you all for sticking with us all these years. (Sept. 13th will mark 8 years of this show!)

Writer/Director Frank Armendarez Has A Passion For Table Top Directing.

Filmmaker Frank Armendarez is a writer, director, and editor with my pals at Crown Chimp. Frank got his big break into show business as a PA on the set of fitness infomercials, but parlayed that into a solid career writing, editing and directing.  This interview is inspiring – nothing makes me happier than chatting with a director knowing the path they want to go down. Frank is developing his long form projects while honing his moves in the commercial space. Keep an eye on him.

Frank currently lives in Tucson where he focuses his creative eye on Table Top directing as well as regularly enjoying the best 23 miles of Mexican food in the United States. Here’s some fine work of Frank’s. Check it out.

Commercial Director Wayne Craig Part I.

Director Wayne Craig began working in the commercial industry at the bottom. ‘He was one hell of a P.A.” The one major advantage it gave him was that it allowed him to work with some of the best directors in the world during the late 80’s and early 90’s. Finally after shooting two spec spots Wayne got the chance to direct a ‘real’ commercial. Amazingly, that first ad won a Lion at Cannes. Since that time the awards have piled up. Lucky to have him on the show, and I know you’ll enjoy this chat. Check out this spot for Bauer that we dissect and one about boobs.

My first film, “Dill Scallion” online for rent or purchase and I’m giving 100% of the gross money raised to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, in fact I’ll match it. Roger Ebert called it “The country music ‘This is Spinal Tap'” so that sums it up. All star cast and a great cause.
