Directing Actors From Casting to Final Cut.

Monday, May 19th at 10am Pacific, I’m giving a live workshop on the Filmmakers Academy platform. “Directing Actors: From Casting to Final Cut.” I love working with actors, and I believe their performances are what truly sell a commercial. The whole experience is about defining your creative voice. I’ve even taken a leadership workshops, and Jeannette and I are committed to helping filmmakers gain career clarity and creative renewal. Inside The Mind Of The Professional Extra With Nancy Cohen.

The wonderful Nancy Cohen walked into my office delivering a Christmas gift on behalf of Idell James Casting, the top shop for casting background artists. Once we got to chatting, I asked Nancy to grace me with an impromptu interview. Thankfully, she agreed and the resulting conversation is a treat.

We talk about how you must keep your head in the game, and how crucial extras can be to bringing the scene to life. Thank you Nancy! Here’s a new spot I made with excellent actors, both as principles and background.

Merry Christmas to all,

Jordan

Space Station is an artist’s paradise. It offers workshops, classes and it’s an affordable place to cast, and even offers actors a free place to tape auditions and pieces for their reel. I sat down with David Rispoli and Ben Rovner to hear all about this unique operation, as well as their Space Station Artist’s Initiative. Their mission is to provide an all-encompassing education for the artists in our community. We deliver unique and diverse seminars, classes, and intensives for all ages and experience levels. Our priority is to remain affordable, practical, and inspiring.
Thanks,

Jordan

Top 5 Tips From Casting Director Danielle Eskinazi.

Do actors really need to wear the same outfit to the callback as their first audition? How much should you fawn over the director? Hey agency folks, why did you call everyone back? Casting is always crucial, so working with a deft casting director is a must. Danielle Eskinazi is one of the best. She loves actors, exudes positivity and is always on the lookout for that unexpected way to fill the role. So flattered to chat with my friend about the process. Enjoy and share.

Danielle also has an inspirational app on the iTunes store that is as much for daily motivation as it is audition tips.
