Founder/Creative Director Vasanth Seshadri On Growing The Sunny Side Agency in Singapore.

Vasanth Seshadri is the Founder, head honcho and Creative Director of the ad agency in Singapore called The Sunny Side. Vasanth shares his non-traditional path into the ad world, starting out as an engineer before catching the creative bug. We talked about his globetrotting career that took him from Singapore to New York and back again. Click here to see some of the cool work The Sunny Side has been cooking up lately.

I find it fascinating to hear Vasanth’s perspective on building an agency internationally. We also dug into the differences between the ad scenes in Singapore, Asia, and good ol’ NYC. This was an insightful convo that gives a glimpse inside the mind of an entrepreneur pushing the boundaries of creativity in the industry. Thank you Vasanth.

Area Of Expertise Founder Jim DiPiazza Curates Your Creative Dream Team.

My guest is Jim DiPiazza, Founder & CEO of Area of Expertise, a full-service marketing collective. We built and maintain an invite-only roster of highly experienced talent – who have helped create some of the most famous and impactful brands in the world.

As for Jim – he’s been around the country at agencies both small and big agencies during his 29 year career. He’s worked on luxury brands, irreverent youth brands and almost everything in between.  He helped pitch and win Xbox, Uber, Kia, VW and numerous others. He created the Bacardi & Cola campaign, launched the Beetle on the Super Bowl, rebranded a nutrition company and led the effort behind getting the Verizon Guy to switch to Sprint.

His last 9 years as an ECD he remade the creative departments at Swirl, Campbell-Ewald/LA and multicultural agency Walton-Isaacson. He also helped build the teams that worked on the Sprint and VW business, both at Deutsch.

Jim let me pick from his archives and I have a sweet spot for his Bacardi and Cola spots from back in the day. Enjoy:

Living La Vida Creativa With Creative Director/Art Director Juan V. Perez.

My guest Juan V. Perez is constantly looking to explore the world through an artistic lens, for personal creative fulfillment and to inform his work. We discuss staying relevant in this digital era of constant change.

We dissect his beautiful spot for Comcast that speaks to bilingual American Latinos with just an English voice over, and we find out why. Check out this spot here. Juan asks me the origin of “Respect The Process” as a podcast title and I oblige. It’s a great chat you’ll find motivating.

Thanks to all the filmmakers that attended Commercial Directing Bootcamp in NYC that week. What a blast! Write me if I should come to your town.

thank you,

Jordan
