I flew across the country from NY for the LA bootcamp and couldn’t be happier that I did. As someone who is constantly immersed in continued education to further my career, I can honestly say there is absolutely nothing out there that is this specific to all things commercial directing. Jordan provides a jam packed day full of insider tips and strategies that are all so incredibly valuable. Here’s what I appreciated most: I struggle with paying attention for long periods of time. But his passionate delivery and wealth of information (he is truly a seasoned director) kept myself and the entire class engaged the entire day. We went 2 hours overtime, and Jordan didn’t waiver once. Value is seriously through the roof for the cost of this bootcamp. I prepared a list of questions to ask in the event that something wasn’t covered. Absolutely everything was covered in detail. Another bonus? You’re attending this event with people on the same journey as you. Some may be further along in their career, some just starting out. But it’s hugely beneficial to be around like-minded people who are driven (they wouldn’t be there if they weren’t) and to have the opportunity to network with them. Don’t question attending this bootcamp if you’re looking to jumpstart or further your commercial directing career. Do it.

Jordan is brilliant. Whether you are just starting out or have been around for a while, Jordan supplies you with a wealth of information that will help you go on to make better and bigger commercials. He’s insightful, witty, hilarious and GENEROUS. “Generous” because there is no holding back – he could give this Bootcamp, still make it great but not share so many insider, professional insights that could literally turn you into his competition. If you are serious about commercial directing then I highly recommend you take this Bootcamp. Check out his podcast, Respect the Process, so you can see for yourself.

Has anyone used “Treasure Trove” yet? Because this was information you would have to work for a year or two in the business to learn on your own. The day went 3 hours longer than planned but everyone was so into it, we didn’t notice. None of it was boring and Jordan does a great job of sharing his knowledge and experiences.
Along with real life examples, he brought in 3 people that are active in the industry to speak, which was enlightening.
If you are thinking about directing commercials, it’s a different animal than the film and tv business. This would be one of the best investments you could make for your future.

This experience is incredibly valuable beyond any traditional education on the business and commercial filmmaking. Jordan being a seasoned pro willing to open up and reveal his secrets, its quite special. The most succinct way to put it is that he is incredibly relevant- along with being an extremely successful in commercial directing, launching his own production company/roster of talent, and creating a very informative podcast…this bootcamp is not theoretical in any way. This bootcamp is dense with knowledge, rich with tips & tricks based on facts that will help you succeed and be the best commercial director you can be in today’s world of treatment writing, nailing conference calls, over-delivering on tight budgets. Delivering all his advice with a bit of comedy and a genuine kindness to give back, whether you are just starting out, seasoned, or looking to transition in your career, it applies to all because his teaching approach is so detailed and useful. If you are serious about the business, I would not even question going. Its just a question of “When does Jordan Brady come to a city near me?”

If you want to grow and excel as a professional Commercial Director, do yourself a favor and take Jordan’s class! I LOVED it! Not only is it fun and inspiring, the insights Jordan shares are invaluable. I’ve been directing commercials for years but learned many new helpful tips and it clarified other areas I’ve always wondered about. Tips for things like writing Treatments, Conference Calls, working with the Agency & Client, On-Set Jedi-Mind tricks, etc. Jordan’s comedic, kind and giving spirit is not just an inspiration to be a better director, but also a better human being. I’m very grateful to Jordan for sharing so much *gold with us, and I’m confident that you will too.

    *not literal gold

    I was inspired.
Before Saturday, I had no interest in directing commercials. I knew Jordan from years past as we are both comics and was curious. My 26 yr old son however has a real penchant for creating stories on film, so I thought it would be good for him. And it was. But the bootcamp is more than just a “class” or a condensed history of the art of commercial filmmaking. There is a Zen quality to it that transcends the craft. Jordan Brady and guests, (including Jeannette, his talented better half) delivered an unforgettable experience that alters not only the way you will view directing, but how you view yourself.
My son wanted to learn more about directing, and left with a wider vision of the world. And that made me forever in Jordan’s debt.

I’ve been in entertainment business since I was 13, and must confess to an occasional unhealthy cynicism that for one afternoon in early December I managed to shake. And three days later I still feel the buzz. Art is courage. Courage to reach inside yourself, and discover something that frightens you; that challenges you. My son Alex and I had an experience that we will use to grow as professionals, but even more to the point, as father and son. Thanks Jordan.

    :

I had the pleasure of taking Jordan Brady’s Commercial Directing Bootcamp in Chicago 2016. It was spectacular. I come from a background of independent filmmaking and local video production services. I have never worked on a professional TV commercial shoot. I have extensive experience in other areas of video production work for over 15 years. I was unsure of what new educational opportunity I would learn when I signed up for the bootcamp. I am greatly pleased that I did. I feel confident that Jordan helped guide me into a new path for success. If you are in a funk in your career and need a jump start then I recommend this class to give you a boost.

    Thanks for the bootcamp Jordan.

    :

Jordan’s generous spirit and creative energy are bound to rub off on anyone interested in commercial directing. I attended his Bootcamp in New York in April, and just returned from my second round of Brady-time in Chicago. I really enjoyed it. Yes, there are plenty of hints and tips on how to conduct yourself in your approach to this business, but just as important for me, it is fun to soak in the enthusiasm and humour that comes hand in hand with the way Jordan delivers the information. I’m better off for it!

There is more value in this 1 day session than you could receive over an entire semester. Learning from a critically acclaimed, working director was invaluable. I signed up a few days before after seeing an ad on twitter and Im so happy I did. Great expereince, fun and incredibly useful. As I move into the commercial space the knowledge I picked up from this course continues to ring true and help guide me. I don’t think there is anything else close to this out there. I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who is interested in directing, commercials, advertising, production, basic business and people skills, and filmmaking in general. If you have the opportunity to take this class you definitely should!!

I can’t say enough about Jordan’s bootcamp, or his podcast. If you’re serious about a career as a commercial director, then this bootcamp is an imperative part of your education. His (and his guest’s) lessons, transcend the craft of film itself and focus on what it takes to enter, survive, and thrive in the commercial filmmaking industry. Above all, he’s a great human and funny as hell! I was lucky to attend in LA.

I think this is the best investment I’ve made in a long time. Stop buying gear and get schooled. This info is so hard to come by and I am still digesting and applying what I learned. . The info has helped me improve the flow on my sets and produce a better product. If you have the opportunity to attend you should!

I was thrilled to learn from Jordan at his inaugural bootcamp in LA. He’s not only a guy who knows the art of directing, but is a legit awesome human being willing to share real information with us passionate filmmakers. He sat with us for hours after the class was supposed to end, answering our questions and discussing the inside-out of the industry. Within days of taking the class, I was applying what I learned from Jordan as I prepared to tackle one of the biggest commercial shoots of my life. If you’re a filmmaker looking to become a Jedi-level commercial director, you’ve just found your Obi-Wan.

I’ve been a longtime listener of Jordan’s podcast, and was instantly on board the moment I saw he was doing a workshop. He did not disappoint. I’ve never met a director, of Jordan’s caliber, who’s so willing to share insight into the industry he works in. It’s truly refreshing. From one director to another – this bootcamp is money well spent.

Jordan is a seasoned pro – and he’s currently working his tuckus off. Meaning this won’t be a dusty seminar from some wannabe, but priceless advice from someone who’s living and breathing the business every day.
